Please join us for an unveiling of a historical marker at Southern Heritage Historical Farm at 10:00am on November 22nd. This is the first African American Century Pioneer Family Farm owner in the state of Florida. This is also the first African American Family designated and certified by the Florida State Genealogical Society as Pioneer Settler Builders before the year of 1845.

You are welcome to tour the on-site museum, which is filled with interesting artifacts. This is wheelchair accessible. Please dress comfortably.

The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Department will provide a complimentary Boston butt and chicken and rice lunch. Admission and lunch are free, however, donations are accepted.

Starting on December 3rd, this historic farm will offer tours about everyday life on a farm – including canning, basket weaving, and quilt making, and plants that grow naturally for medicine. Tours are available by appointment on Wednesdays – Saturdays. Please email or call Ms. Hines to schedule a tour of the farm or a canning, basket weaving, or quilt-making class.
