The 72-degree spring serves as a popular destination for swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, and kayaking, as well as cave diving for certified divers. Beyond the temperate waters, two hiking trails offer opportunities for wildlife sightings, while picnic and grilling areas cater to family-friendly cookouts.

Outdoor adventures abound at Suwannee River State Park. Hikers can explore a variety of trails, including the lengthy 12.5-mile Big Oak Trail, which is part of the Florida National Scenic Trail, the Sandhill Trail leading to Columbus Cemetery, and the Earthworks Trail. Boating, paddling, and bicycling are just a few of the activities available to enjoy while taking in the birding opportunities and scenic views of Little Gem Spring and Lime Sink Run.

Ichetucknee Springs State Park, Fort White

Open from 8 a.m. until sunset, Ichetucknee Springs State Park comprises two distinct areas, with its northern entrance situated in Suwannee County. At this entrance, visitors can explore three hiking trails: the Blue Hole Trail (currently undergoing construction, leading to the dive-friendly Blue Hole Spring), Trestle Point Trail (which runs alongside the river), and Pine Ridge Trail. Additionally, guests can enjoy the vibrant blue headspring, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The northern entrance also serves as the starting point for a tranquil kayaking journey down the river.

Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park, which caters to both certified divers and those seeking above-water adventures, is a hidden gem that’s open daily from 8 a.m. to sundown. While cave diving requires certification, other activities like hiking, wildlife viewing, swimming, and snorkeling are available. The entrance fee is $4 per vehicle and only $2 for pedestrians, bicyclists, and extra passengers with Annual Individual Entrance Pass holders.

Live Oak’s The Brown Lantern may be a hidden gem to visitors, but it’s been a beloved establishment among locals since its foundation in 1977. Deli sandwiches, barbeque, seafood, and grilled entrees provide a diverse dining experience.

Nestled within a historic home, the building that houses The 406 holds a rich local history, and its present-day legacy is defined by the delectable cuisine it offers. Serving everything from Sunday brunch to dinner specials, The 406 also proudly features an elevated bourbon bar on the upper floor.
